In the highly competitive category ‘Networker of the Year’ we’re delighted to announce a win for Gooding Accounts’ very own Sherelyn Cowles! With more than 1,500 nominations for this year’s awards, bringing the award back home to Trowbridge is a remarkable achievement.

Sherelyn’s commitment to networking is clear, often starting early in the morning and working through until late in the evening attending events across Wiltshire and the South West. Since taking on the role of Chief Business Development Officer, Sherelyn spends at least 40% of her time networking and cites it as one of the key business drivers for any accountancy practice.
The judges were particularly impressed with Sherelyn’s approach to networking, highlighting her focus on building genuine relationships and helping business owners rather than simply using events as a form of promotion. Her success is a testament to her friendly and approachable manner — taking a real interest in people on a personal level and creating conversations that feel natural, meaningful, and built on trust.
Sherelyn says;
“I’m absolutely thrilled (and more than a little surprised) to receive this award in such a strong category. It’s a wonderful recognition of the importance of building genuine relationships in business, both to help Gooding Accounts develop, but also to help our clients across Wiltshire to grow and prosper. A huge thank you to those who gave me such glowing testimonials that surely helped me to stand out!”
Alongside attending numerous networking groups from Swindon to Frome and beyond, Sherelyn also launched Gooding Accounts’ first networking group, Buzz Warminster. With the support of the Buzz franchise, she now hosts the monthly meetings in Warminster. More than 55 different businesses have attended the sessions so far, with many returning every month to enjoy the welcoming atmosphere and build valuable connections with other Wiltshire businesses.

Sherelyn was presented with her award at the South West Business and Community Awards ceremony in Swindon, Wiltshire. True to her ‘Networker of the Year’ title she celebrated with business connections (and friends) she has made through the groups she attends across the South West. Special congratulations to the Gooding Accounts’ clients who also received well-deserved awards on the evening.
