With more than 1500 entries in this year’s awards we’re honoured to have made the final from so many businesses from across Wiltshire and beyond who are supporting their teams to achieve the very best.
The judges were impressed with the firm’s dedication to training, supporting the team to achieve their career goals. In total three trainees joined the firm in 2025 with a further two due to start by March 2026. Trainees following Gooding Training Academy’s programme, based at the firms’ new dedicated training facilities, have achieved some fantastic results throughout 2025. Two completed their AAT, with five currently enrolled in the programme, achieving a strong 79% pass rate across challenging content. In addition, four employees are currently undertaking external accountancy/payroll qualifications reinforcing the firm’s promise to empower its team to succeed in their chosen field.
2025 saw the firm’s training excellence recognised with the ACCA Approved Employer – Practising Certificate Development status. Alongside professional qualifications 13 senior team members receive ongoing business coaching from an external professional, allowing them to examine their strengths in greater depth and develop skills to help them enhance their performance and set both personal and career development targets.
Gooding Accounts also impressed with their commitment to the community, with 2025’s summer charity golf day recognised as a highlight. In July 2025 the team raised more than £12,000 for two charities who had supported one of the team when her young granddaughter was diagnosed with a life threatening condition.
Any member of the team that takes time out of their busy schedule to raise funds for local charities is rewarded with time off in lieu, and the team are offered flexibility to assist at charity and community events. In the past year volunteers have attended careers days at secondary schools and colleges and even a world book day event at a local primary school.
The team’s genuine desire to spend time together was recognised – they regularly come together for social events, community initiatives, and celebrations, demonstrating the firm’s values in action. Their camaraderie and enthusiasm was praised for showing that Gooding Accounts is not just a successful business, but a workplace where people can truly flourish.
