The We Hear You (WHY) annual ball is always a highlight in the charity’s calendar, bringing people together to support an organisation doing truly incredible work. We Hear You (WHY) provide professional counselling services and emotional support to anyone affected or bereaved by cancer or other life-threatening conditions across Wiltshire, Somerset, and Bath & North East Somerset.
As part of Gooding Accounts’ ongoing commitment to supporting local charities, we were delighted to sponsor the event and the charity auction – with our very own Sam Gooding also stepping up to host the evening, sporting one of his now-famous suits! Held at the beautiful Elmhay Park on the Orchardleigh Estate near Frome, guests were treated to a fantastic evening of entertainment, great food and dancing.
More importantly, it was a wonderful opportunity for the local community to come together, celebrate, and support a cause that touches so many lives. Every ticket sold and every auction item won will help We Hear You to continue offering free and low-cost counselling to individuals and families at a time when they need it most.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the ball – alongside the charity’s Christmas auction – raised an incredible £13,000. While this is an amazing achievement, We Hear You are currently facing one of the most challenging periods in their history. Without ongoing support from businesses and local people, the charity risks being unable to continue its life-changing work into 2026.
They still need to raise a further £55,000 before March to secure their vital services for the future.
