We are looking for a motivated Accounts Associate to prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax returns for a wide variety of clients. This is a technical role with no-client facing responsibilities, giving you the opportunity to develop specialist expertise while working as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

You will support the smooth running and continued growth of the business through the following key areas:

Accounts and Tax Preparation:

• Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in line with accounting standards
• Produce corporation tax computations and returns in compliance with HMRC requirements
• Review bookkeeping data to ensure completeness and reconcile figures prior to accounts and tax preparation

Compliance and Quality Control:

• Ensure accounts and tax returns are completed accurately and within statutory deadlines
• Keep up to date with changes in accounting standards, tax legislation, and reporting requirements
• Apply quality control measures before submission for review

Team Collaboration:

  • Work with bookkeepers and colleagues across the team to ensure complete and accurate financial information
  • Escalate technical queries or complex cases to senior colleagues or the Client Portfolio Lead
  • Contribute to maintaining consistent processes across the accounts function

Process Improvement:

  • Support the adoption of efficient workflows and accounting software
  • Identify and recommend improvements to streamline compliance processes

To be successful you will have:

  • AAT Level 4 qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Proven experience in an accountancy practice preparing accounts and tax returns
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
  • A proactive, methodical approach and the ability to meet deadlines

Work Environment:

  • Full-time, office-based position (Monday to Friday)
  • Permanent role
  • Free onsite parking
