We’re thrilled to announce that Goodings very own Sherelyn Cowles has made the shortlist in the Networker of the Year category at the South West Business & Community Awards. With more than 1500 nominations for this year’s award it’s a great achievement to reach the final 8 amongst some very competitive entries!
The judges were impressed with Sherelyn’ approach to networking – with her focus on building genuine relationships rather than performing an exercise in business promotion. Her success is testament to her friendly and approachable, manner – showing interest in others on a personal level and creating conversations that feel natural, meaningful, and built on trust.
Following her appointment as Chief Business Development Officer in early 2025 Sherelyn cites networking as one of the key drivers of growth for the firm. Sherelyn says;
“Like many accountancy firms Gooding Accounts offer a full range of services. But that’s where the similarities end. Our dedication to client relationships is what makes us stand out from the crowd and the committed team work hard to build and maintain these relationships so our clients can call on us whenever they have a problem. Gooding Accounts clients buy into our people as well as the service they provide, and networking allows us to demonstrate the firm’s genuine personality.”
Her commitment to networking is clear to see, sometimes beginning at 6am and going on well into the evening – Sherelyn now spends more than 40% of her time attending events in Wiltshire and beyond.
In 2025 Sherelyn set up Gooding Accounts’ first networking group, Buzz Warminster. With the support of the Buzz franchise Sherelyn now hosts the monthly meeting in Warminster. More than 55 different businesses have now attended her sessions, with many coming back every month to enjoy the hospitality and build connections across the county.

Sherelyn also champions women in business as a signatory of the Women in Finance charter – a government initiative to increase the number of women in senior roles across the whole of the finance sector. The firm leads the way with more than 3/4 of the senior team being women – including Sherelyn herself!
