Making Tax Digital (changes to the way your tax return is submitted) represents the biggest change for income tax since Self Assessment was launched more than 30 years ago. Our personal tax team have been busy preparing for the changes to the way Income Tax Self Assessments are submitted to enable them to offer you the very best advice. Changes are mandatory for all landlords and sole traders with a total turnover of more than £50,000 from 6th April 2026. We’re here to help make sure you don’t get left behind or face ongoing fines – join our seminar to find out more.

If you are affected by the changes this year you should have already received a letter from HMRC and a notification from the team here at Gooding Accounts. Even if you’re not affected this time, it’s important to remember that from April 2027 HMRC will be extending Making Tax Digital to even more taxpayers, with a further expansion in April 2028.

You can use our quick survey to find out if you will be affected by the changes.
