On Saturday 26th September, Angela, Sharon, Harriet and Leanne will be heading to Bathampton to take part in Paddle for Purpose, a 10km out-and-back challenge along the Kennet and Avon Canal, raising vital funds for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity. It will be a huge challenge for the team, none of whom are experienced kayakers.
The good news is that they won’t be completely on their own. The event is supported by Wiltshire Outdoor Learning Team a Not-For-Profit organisation delivering outdoor learning activities for all ages and abilities across the local area. The team have already had a taster session with WOLT and are hoping to have picked up enough of the essentials to move quickly along the canal, and most importantly – stay upright!
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance provides critical medical care by land and air to people across Wiltshire, Bath and the surrounding areas. The charity relies on fundraising and donations to continue its lifesaving work.
The Paddle for Purpose event gives the team the chance to challenge ourselves, have some fun as a team whilst raising money for a cause that makes a real difference in our local community.
