Sam is thrilled to join a select group of inspirational accountancy professionals who have been invited to judge this year’s AAT Impact Awards. Sam has always been an advocate for the accounting sector, representing the profession at numerous events, winning his own awards and earlier this year being voted by fellow AAT professionals to become part of the AAT Members Advisory Council.

Sam’s passion for providing career development for accounting talent from across Wiltshire aligns closely with the AAT – the world’s leading professional body for accounting technicians. The firm is well known as an employer in the local region being a finalist for Employer of the Year in both Bath Life Awards and South West Business & Community Awards for the last two years, as well as national awards Accounting Excellence.
What is the AAT?
AAT stands for the Association of Accounting Technicians, a professional body that provides globally recognised accounting and finance qualifications. AAT offers a structured qualification system from introductory levels to advanced diplomas, providing practical, real-world skills for careers in accounting and finance. Their qualifications are highly valued by employers and are ideal for those starting in the field, changing careers, or aiming to advance their existing finance career. Many of the Gooding Accounts team are AAT members, gaining their professional qualifications with the AAT – and our associate accountants are working towards these qualifications via a training programme with GT Academy.

The AAT Impact Awards, celebrate the successes of AAT members over the last twelve months from all over the United Kingdom, shining the spotlight on unsung heroes and inspirational figures from all fields across the accounting sector. There are a broad range of awards, from rising star to practice of the year alongside an award for sustainability (new for 2025) and community impact. The winners will be celebrated in a special ceremony on London on Friday 7th November.
